Introduction

Welcome to my research portfolio!

My name is Emma Veľasová and I am a master's student of African Studies at Leiden University. I come from the lovely country of Slovakia, and I have recently graduated in BA International Studies at Leiden University. I chose both study programs because of the interdisciplinary approaches they offer, which are very different from the university programs at home.

As my fascination with interdisciplinarity suggests, I have many diverse passions and interests. They range from literature and oral tradition, through healthcare and female reproductive health, to nature and ecology.

In my research, I will thus try to find a way to combine these passions into a unique approach to the study of Africa.
