My name is Leo Dietrich and I am currently studying in the Master African Studies in Leiden. Previously, I studied History, Arabic Studies & Islamic Studies in Münster in my Bachelor's degree.

I am mainly interested in the recent history of West Africa, but notice how I am becoming more open-minded towards topics of the here and now in the course of my studies. This also applies to the methods: I hope that my current attempts at producing podcasts on scholarly content can one day evolve into something like scholarly podcasts.

My master thesis will be about political hip hop in Mauritania.
