Christy van Beek is the lead sustainability at Bayer Crop Science in The Netherlands. She has close to two decades of academic experience with an expertise in soil fertility and management. In this capacity she worked at the University of Wageningen and for SoilCares. She has been active in many African countries with farmers and agricultural practices, and thus has a good understanding of what is needed for these local farmers. I am talking with her about the influence of a big company like Bayer on the way farming is done in Sub Sahara Africa.
